Common questions
How is profit counted?
For each order: what the customer paid for the products and shipping, without taxes and duties, minus refunds, minus the cost per item from Shopify, minus payment fees, minus your shipping cost. Products of an order share its fees and shipping by their sales, so products always add up to orders.
Where do the payment fees come from?
Shopify Payments fees are read from each transaction in Shopify. For other providers (PayPal, Klarna and others) Shopify has no fee data, so the app uses a rule you set once on the Costs page: a percent of the order plus a fixed amount.
Why are shipping costs a rule?
Shopify doesn’t give apps the price of the labels you buy. Pick “same as charged”, a flat amount per parcel, or none on the Costs page.
Some products say “Cost missing”.
They have no “Cost per item” in Shopify. Their profit isn’t guessed: it shows as missing. Add costs on the Costs page, by hand, as a share of the price or from a CSV. The app saves them in Shopify too, and older orders are filled in.
How are refunds handled?
A refund comes off the order it belongs to. A returned item gives its cost back; an item refunded without a return (the customer kept it) still costs you the item.
My store sells in several currencies.
Everything is counted in your store’s currency, the way Shopify converts each order.
What happens if I remove the app?
Nothing in your store changes. Costs you saved stay in Shopify: they are yours. The app’s copy of your orders is deleted 48 hours later.
What does it cost?
Free shows the last 30 days with everything, for any number of orders. Pro adds 12 months, every comparison, the weekly email and CSV export, for one flat price. Never by orders or revenue. Development stores get Pro free.
